There are two major lines of research in the Taylor Lab. One line involves the study of biological, psychological, cognitive, and environmental factors related to substance use disorders and/or personality disorders. Current studies in this area include one examining psychophysiological (e.g., heart rate) and other factors to substance use and personality disorders in adult men and women; a dissertation examining differences between two subtypes of narcissism; and a dissertation examining core processes related to borderline personality. The other line of research in the Taylor Lab involves the study of genetic and environmental influences on personality disorders. We have completed the initial twin study that helped establish the Florida State Twin Registry, a database of twins in the Tallahassee area.
