Biographical Sketch
Kristina graduated from the University of Iowa in 2003 with a B. A. degree in Psychology. In 2007, she received a M. A. degree in Psychology from Boston University. While at Boston University, Kristina volunteered at The Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders working on several projects related to the nature and treatment of anxiety disorders. After completing her M.A., she worked at the National Center for PTSD at the Boston VA, where she worked as a project coordinator and diagnostician on projects involving combat veterans with PTSD. Currently, she is pursuing her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Florida State University. Kristina's research interests focus on the nature, measurement, treatment, and prevention of anxiety and its related disorders. Specifically, Kristina is interested in individual difference variables that predict the development of anxiety disorders (e.g., anxiety sensitivity), the processes that maintain these symptoms (e.g., avoidance), and adaptation of cognitive-behavioral therapies through the use of motivational techniques to enhance treatment utilization.
