Introduction to Brain and Behavior

PSB 2000-06, 07;  Spring, 2007

Course Description:  The purpose of this class is to introduce you to what is currently known about the nervous system mechanisms that underlie behavior and to provide you with a better understanding of the scientific methods that are used to generate this knowledge.

Readings: Kalat, James W. Biological Psychology, 9th Edition, Brooks/Cole Publishing Company, Boston, 2006.

Evaluation: There will be four sectional exams, all multiple choice. Only three of these exams will be used to calculate your final grade.

Biology of Eating Disorders and Obesity

PSY 4710;  Fall, 2005

Course Description:  The purpose of this class is to introduce you to what is currently known about biological factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and obesity. Data from human- and animal based research will be discussed.
