M.S. Computer Science, Florida State University 1998 As the facilities manager, Mike is responsible for all facets of the psychology building and its occupants. His duties include: building security, maintenance, renovations & repairs, oversight of research labs, offices and classrooms. He coordinates the pickup and containment of all hazardous materials, manages our secure data archive and our recycling program. He also directs space allocations, relocations, property accounting, furniture purchases, and special event coordination. Mike serves as our Property Manager, Inventory Manager, Key Manager, Departmental Security Access Representative, and is the chair of the space committee. He manages one full time employee who is closely involved in all aspects of the job.
The primary responsibility of the Graphics Office is to provide graphic services to the faculty, graduate students and staff of the Department of Psychology. The graphics office is equipped to handle both Mac and PC platforms. Services provided include assistance in the preparation of:

M.S. Florida State University 1982 Don manages software development for the Psychology Department/Neuroscience's Instrumentation Development and Research Group. He also designs and implements web database applications for our faculty and staff.
B.S. Management Information Systems, Florida State University 2008 Fred is responsible for the supervisory aspects of the electronic shop and the instrument/machine shop at the Department of Psychology. In addition to his role as supervisor, he acts as quality control in the design and fabrication of a vast array of specialized electronic and mechanical instrumentation. Fred is also heavily involved in printed circuit board design and layout, instrumentation front panel design and layout, and instrumentation chassis design, layout and fabrication.
Greg is the senior member of our helpdesk team. He specializes in advanced hardware and application support issues and acts as a liaison between the end users and the systems and networking office to assure accurate problem interpretation and resolution. Greg helped design our Technology Support Group website as well as the new PsyMail (Roundcube) webmail system. He is currently an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science.
James is the newest member of our helpdesk team. He provides a first point of contact and problem resolution for all users with information technology related issues. James is also responsible for the maintenance of the lab and faculty office backup server system. He is currently an undergraduate majoring in Information Technology.
Ryan is our mechanical engineer/machinist that designs and machines parts and components for various projects for the department of Psychology. His responsibilities include producing CAD drawings, CNC programming, CNC lathe operation, CNC milling operation, CAM design and managing our departments machine shop.
Justin is our departmental web applications developer. He is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of several internal Psychology department applications. Additionally, Justin designed and programmed the external-facing graduate applications website as well as it's internal-facing components. He is currently an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science.
Tim is involved in all aspects of the Facilities Managers' job. He is solely responsible for our centrally-managed card access control system, handling all swipe card requests, data-entry, and room reservations. Tim also manages our recycling program and is the department's inventory taker. He performs general building monitoring, parking assignments, and asset facilitation. One of Tim's greatest contributions to the department is his unlimited assistance to our faculty, students and staff.
Mark provides design and technical support for the department web site, as well as for many laboratory, graduate student, and student organization web sites that are hosted on the department's web servers. Other responsibilities include: classroom user support, managing the department's online calender system, computer user support on occasions when there are no helpdesk personnel available and for all specific support requests related to classroom audio/visual issues or the department web site, and oversight of undergraduate computing facilities as well as department-owned audio/visual equipment and laptop computers.
Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, University of Florida 2011 Hongzhi facilitates the research goals of our department by developing unique electronic devices and systems used to collect and process data from human and animal studies. He serves as the authority on all issues pertaining to circuit design, signal analysis, and transducer interfacing. Hongzhi works closely with engineering personnel at all levels of production to ensure that hardware and software solutions are robust and reliable.
M.S. Computer Science, Florida State University 2005 Bobby is the systems and network administrator for the department. He is responsible for the planning, design, implementation and management of the information technology services to support the research and teaching needs of the department. Major duties include: Designing, implementing, and maintaining the server infrastructure for the department. Performing general maintenance, on-call emergency repairs, and installation of new services. Developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery solutions. Integration of technology to support the research and teaching needs of the department. Supervision of the OPS user support (help desk) and web application programmer positions including providing assistance on tasks that require higher level support. Consulting with faculty and staff on matters relating to the procurement of information technology resources (hardware and software). Maintenance and administration of the department's network resources. Troubleshooting and resolution of network problems. Software design and development tasks to support the research and teaching needs of the department, including the creation of both stand-alone and web-based applications. Development of internal IT policies and procedures, keeping software licensing records, and keeping records of all network connected commodities.
Shawn is a machinist whose responsibilities include the design and fabrication of animal experiment hardware for the Department of Psychology as well as for P30 Grant user's across the state of Florida. His responsibilities include producing CAD drawings, milling and lathe operations as well as CNC machining.
B.S. Computer Science, Northeast Petroleum
University 2004 Hao is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of several internal web applications used by individual areas within the Department of Psychology. Her applications support the graduate students and professors with their teaching and research needs. Hao has her bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
