To all graduate students:

Summer and fall registration begins on Monday the 17th. We just received notification from the college that waivers for up to 12 credit hours in summer and fall will be issued for in-state students (i.e., Florida residents). The college will reimburse you for the fees associated with the 10th, 11th and 12th credit hours (the department will submit the request to the college and the fees will appear in your paycheck a month or two into the semester). If at all possible, please take the additional credits (for example, you can register for DIS credits); graduate enrollment has a direct bearing on the department's allocation from the college. Out-of-state students will be provided waivers for 9 credits. First year students who are currently non-FL residents should register for 9 hours this summer (the only exception is if you have a fellowship and are required to register for 12 hours); you can then register for 12 credits for fall since you will be establishing FL residency effective fall 2008.
