Congratulations to:


Dr. Thomas Joiner, the recipient of an endowed professorship given in honor and support of his research on suicide. The professorship is a gift of Stella and Raymond Cottrell who are long-time supporters of FSU. Thomas has also received a 3-year grant ($754K) from the Military Operational Medicine Research Program of the U.S. Army for a project entitled "Optimizing Screening and Risk Assessment for Suicide Risk in the U.S. Military" (a larger grant is pending from this same program).

Drs. Mohamed Kabbaj (PI) and Zuoxin Wang (co-PI), who were awarded a 2-year ($400,000) R21 grant on "Epigenetics of Social Bonding" by NIMH.

Drs. Chris Patrick (PI) and Ed Bernat (co-PI), who were awarded a 2-year ($950K) NIMH RC1 (Challenge) grant entitled "Trait Fear and Disinhibition in Impulse Control Disorders".
















Social Psychology graduate students, Lauren Brewer (major professor is Dr. Roy Baumeister) and Kyle Conlon (major professor is Dr. Joyce Ehrlinger) who were awarded the department's Joseph H. Grosslight Teaching Scholarship, which will pay for their expenses to attend the National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology in January.

Saul Miller, a Social Psychology graduate student (major professor is Dr. Jon Maner), who was awarded the Clarence J. Rosecrans Scholarship from the American Psychological Foundation (APF) and the Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology (COGDOP). The award includes $2000 to help fund dissertation research.

Eddie Selby, a Clinical Psychology graduate student (major professor is Dr. Thomas Joiner), who was awarded a Graduate Research Scholarship from the American Psychological Foundation (APF) and Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology (COGDOP). The award provides $1000 in support of research.

Shauna Wilson, a Clinical Psychology graduate student (major professor is Dr. Chris Lonigan), who was awarded Dissertation Research Grant from FSU. The award provides $750 in support of her dissertation research.
