"Behind this 1913 gym class stood FSCW's most unusual building. Originally a Negro school and church, it was purchased in 1905 and used as a gymnasium until 1929. From then until the end of FSCW, it housed the School of Music offices. The FSU School of Social Work next used it for several years" (caption to figure on p85, Robin Sellers (1995), Femina Perfecta. Tallahassee: FSU Foundation). It was subsequently located next to the Psychology Building. |

Originally called the Psychology Research Building, this million-dollar facility was occupied in 1965 for the research and training of graduate students and faculty. This building had no windows and adjoins the Psychology Building at each of the top three floors by open-air bridges. The building was renamed for Winthrop N. Kellogg in 1982. Dr. Kellogg was an eminent researcher whose studies of porpoises and apes are among the most famous in their respective areas. |
