Some Important Notes:  

 

 

Informational Documents

Dissertation Prospectus:

 

·         Clinical and Social students only:

1) After the committee has been formed complete the Doctoral Supervisory Committee Form http://www.psy.fsu.edu/grad.prog/docs/Doctoral_Supervisory_Committee.htm. This form must be completed and submitted to the 'department' graduate office no later than the second week of classes in the semester that the student intends to graduate.

 

2) At prospectus meeting have committee sign Doctoral Program of Studies form

At conclusion of prospectus defense:

·         Have your committee sign the Defense Report Form http://www.psy.fsu.edu/grad.prog/docs/Defense_Report.htm


 

Prior to Dissertation Defense:

 

·         Two weeks prior to defense submit Defense Announcement Form http://www.psy.fsu.edu/grad.prog/docs/Defense_Announcement.htm Note The Graduate School also requires the defense be announced at the following link https://netprod.oti.fsu.edu/Defense_Announcement See Forms under Manuscript Clearance Section of GradSpace.

·         Student submits manuscript (www.etdadmin.com/fsu) four weeks before defense, when students sends manuscript to committee. See The Manuscript Clearance Process under Manuscript Clearance Section of GradSpace.

 

At conclusion of defense:

·         Have committee sign the Manuscript Signature Form see Forms under Manuscript Clearance section of GradSpace. The faculty no longer need to sign the second page of the ETD (formerly called Signature Page of the manuscript), which will simply be a page listing the date of defense and the committee members.

·         Have committee sign the Defense Report Form http://www.psy.fsu.edu/grad.prog/docs/Defense_Report.htm

·         Give University Representative Doctoral Defense Report Form to outside committee member to complete and turn in to The Graduate School. The form is available in Forms and Documentation section in the Manuscript Clearance section of GradSpace.

·         Have Major Professor sign Final Term Degree Clearance Form see Forms under Manuscript Clearance section of GradSpace. The Director of Graduate Studies (Dr. Plant) signature is also required, followed by signature of Arts & Sciences Dean's Representative and finally submission to The Graduate School.

Note: Students are required to complete entire clearance of their final manuscript within 60 days of their defense date, or they will have to re-defend.
