Who we are

The Psychology Clinic is a mental health service, training, and research center operated by the Department of Psychology at Florida State University. Services are provided by doctoral level student therapists in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program under the close supervision of faculty members. The Clinical Psychology program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation, 750 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002-4242; 202-336-5979). The Clinic Director is Thomas Joiner, Ph.D., a world renowned researcher and clinician.

What we do

The FSU Psychology Clinic offers affordable outpatient mental health services while providing experience for graduate students in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. The clinic provides confidential and personalized services that are sensitive to issues of diversity. We specialize in therapies that are supported by research (empirically-supported therapies).

What we DO provide:

What we do NOT provide:

  • emergency or walk-in appointments
  • on-site psychiatric evaluations
  • child custody evaluations

Who we serve

Assessment and treatment are available for adults, adolescents, and children. Members of the Tallahassee community and nearby areas, as well as Florida State University’s students, staff, alumni, and faculty are clients at our clinic. Assessment and treatment services are available to everyone in the community who contacts the Clinic, regardless of affiliation with the University.

Application materials can be obtained from the staff at the Psychology Clinic office located in room 214 in the Regional Rehabilitation Center on FSU’s campus or from this web site.
